Sonos gave listeners a significant update Tuesday with updates to its apps to support iOS 5 and Mac OS X Lion. The Sonos Mac app is also a pain and both of their apps make the experience of using them worse with each new iteration. I'm done with them and will be sticking with the vastly superior sounding AND friendlier U.I. That is the HomePod! 1) From now, the app will open and will scan the Sonos speakers on your network. Make sure that your Mac and your Sonos speakers are connected to the same network / wifi. It will display your Sonos speakers on the application. 2) Now you need to tell your Mac that you will play the music to your Sonos speakers. Sonos Controller for Mac or PC: From the Sonos menu (Mac), or Manage menu (PC), click Check for Updates. On a Mac, the Sonos menu can be found in the toolbar in the top left corner of the screen. On a PC, the Manage menu is found at the top left of the Sonos.
